From the perspective of arts benefactor Baryn Futa, the arts are a worthy cause that benefits all of society. The fact that art is also a profitable and useful investment is almost beside the point. Whereas most people agree that art appreciation is a key element of every human society, the reality is, the arts and artists are all too often taken for granted. That is the driving force behind Baryn Futa's prolific work in support of the fine arts, both as a benefactor and as a patron and collector of fine art.
Though he didn’t get into art until he retired and began to work at the Denver Art Museum, which makes him something of a straggler, he seems to be making up for lost time. Baryn Futa is not appreciative if the fact that many brilliant artists are not appreciated enough to thrive, which is why he tries to hard to pick up the slack and rectify that situation. He sees art as a necessary and defining aspect of any culture, including modern culture, so he wants to cultivate a greater love and appreciation for art.
